That’s where we come in. Sword Sky installs outdoor structures regardless of where they were purchased — Alibaba, AliExpress, Facebook Marketplace, a supplier you found on WhatsApp or WeChat, or a local store. We check the kit, set out and build proper footings, fix to your home’s structure, and seal every joint so it stays watertight through the heaviest storm.

Seal, Test & Handover

Flashings sealed, gutters connected, louvres and blinds tested. We walk you through operation and clean up.

Installation Journey

From the box
to a finished pergola

One real louvre pergola install, start to finish. These are the steps we follow on every job, so you know what happens on your site and why each step matters.

Pergola installation step 1: Delivery and Kit Check — Sword Sky Sydney

Step 01

Delivery & Kit Check

The kit arrives in crates. Before we touch a tool, we open every box and check each part against the packing list, so nothing is missing on install day.

Step 02

Beam End Plates

Connection plates are fitted to the beam ends. These plates carry the load from the roof into the posts, so we check every bolt and seat.

Step 03

Post-to-Beam Connection

Each post is joined to the beam with a steel plate and stainless fixings, then checked so it sits plumb and square.

Step 04

Frame Goes Up

Posts and perimeter beams are stood up and fixed together. We check level and square across the whole frame before moving on.

Step 05

Securing Every Joint

Every post-to-beam joint is bolted up and tightened. This is what keeps the structure rigid in strong wind.

Step 06

Cantilever Overhang Arms

Cantilever arms are bolted along the beam at even spacings. They carry the overhang section that projects past the balcony edge, with no extra posts needed.

Step 07

Overhang Frame Complete

The outer overhang frame is fixed to the ends of the arms, then checked for level and alignment. Cables are run through the frame, ready for power.

Step 08

Waterproof Connections

The plug-and-play cables for the motor and LEDs are joined with sealed, weatherproof connectors and tucked away inside the frame.

Step 09

Fitting the Louvres

Each aluminium blade is clipped into its pivot and linked to the drive arm, so every blade opens and closes together.

Step 10

Wall Flashing

A flashing angle is fitted and sealed where the roof meets the wall. This stops rain getting in behind the pergola.

Step 11

Lights On

Power on. We test the louvres through their full range and check every LED strip before handover.

Step 12

Finished & Handed Over

Blinds fitted, site cleaned up, and we show you how to use the remote. Your outdoor room is ready to use.

Will you install a pergola I bought on Alibaba or AliExpress?

Yes. Most of our outdoor installs are imported kits. Send us the listing or packing list and photos of your site and we’ll quote the installation.

Do I need council approval?

Many pergolas, awnings and carports fall under NSW exempt development rules, but it depends on size, height, location and your property. We’ll flag anything that may need approval or engineering before we start.

What if parts are missing or damaged?

We check the kit before install day. If anything is short or damaged, we help you raise it with your supplier so the job isn’t held up on the day.

How long does installation take?

Most standard pergolas, awnings and carports are installed in one to two days once footings are ready. Larger structures and enclosures can take longer — we’ll give you a clear timeframe with your quote.

Can you install on a balcony, deck or tiled area?

Yes. We check the surface and the structure underneath first, then choose the right fixings or footings so the pergola is secure without damaging your tiles or waterproofing.

Do the motor and LED lights need extra work?

Most louvre roofs and outdoor blinds are plug-and-play. We connect and test the motor, LED lighting and remote so everything works before we leave.
